Over the last week, I spent some time in Laos, in particular, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. Both areas are more central-northern and give many opportunities for seeing the country's natural beauty and taking part in extreme sports.

Vang Vieng was a lot of fun, as we did the most famous activity, tubbing! I can't even describe to you how unique this little area is, and travellers come all over to experience tubbing down the river with others. We happened to find a little family owned restaurant, and by family, I literally mean the children were playing Nintendo in the same room we were eating, and the dog cuddled up to me are I enjoyed my traditional Lao dishes. The prices were so reasonable in Laos, that it is a budget traveller's dream!

Luang Prabang is a UNESCO world hertiage site. The entire city is filled with Buddist temples and monasteries. It is quiet the experience with the young Buddhists in their orange cloth. We spent a day with the elephants, trekking through the rainforest, feeding and bathing them. It was an amazing adventure! The night market is also quite the experience. You may load your plate with a variety of foods for just $1! I was in heaven!
