Thailand - Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Khao Lak

I have spent the last 10 days in Thailand, and each place I have been to is different from the rest! We started out in the north, in Chiang Mai. This place was a lot bigger than I was expecting, and there was so much to do! I am not kidding you, I was expecting a little village with barely running water, and to my surprise, there was a McDonalds and Starbucks on every corner! So I indulged in westernized food!

We began by visiting Tiger Kingdom and had the opportunity to play with one month old baby tigers. This was the experience of a lifetime! Later in the day we did some extreme sports, like the XOrbit Ball and ATVing through the jungle!

To finish off our experience in Chiang Mai, we took a Thai cooking course and went to watch some Thai Boxing. It was the busiest day of our life! And completely worth it!

After Chiang Mai, we headed to the big city of Bangkok. Bangkok is one of my favourite cities and since my last time being there, I was surprised to see how much had changed! We stayed in the very futuristic area near the Siam plaza. I am sad to say that I didn't take enough pictures in Bangkok. It was very hot and hard to carry a camera backpack with all the walking (and shopping) we did. But here are a few:

Finally, we flew down to Phuket to stay in Khao Lak. This area was severely hit by the Tsunami in 2006, but since then, the community has managed to rebuild and start fresh. We were hoping for sunshine, but got a lot of rain. We managed to get one very nice day, so I took a couple beach shots, and enjoyed the sunset.
