Queen Elizabeth Park Engagement Session : Nancy +Josh

I met Nancy and Josh a couple years ago through one of my closest friends. Nancy aka 'Nan' is kind, generous and super stylish and started her own make up artistry business! While Josh her counterpart, is good-hearted, hard working and responsible. They hold the perfect balance in a relationship.

Nancy and Josh met in a bar line up (let's just say that's a step up then an actual bar). After a short while in the line, they decided to ditch the bar and go elsewhere. As the night went on, they grew closer and it turns out they would be inseparable after that day. The following weekend Josh's friends went to Whistler for a snowboarding event and he invited Nancy to follow along, and ever since that weekend they knew they had something special, something real.

After some time, and some trips to their favourite vacation spot, Palm Springs, Josh had planned to ask Nancy to marry him. He bought the ring a few weeks prior and was trying to hide it for the past month. In Palm Springs there is a beautiful park on top of a mountain called San Jacinto Park where you can take an aerial tramcar to the top. They took the ride up in the car, while Josh had the ring in his pocket the whole time...sweating like a pig of course, and thinking 'she knows what I'm up to'. When they got to the top of the restaurant, they were given the nicest seat in the house, which only arose more suspicion. They proceeded to have a nice dinner with some wine until the mountain became quiet. He then took her outside under the stars overlooking the entire city. He nervously hugged her and then got down on one knee and said "I have to ask you something" and as he asked her to marry him, she replied with, "I don't know yet, it's too dark I can't see the ring." They both burst into laughter and as she let him hang down on his knees for what seemed like forever, she finally said "YES!...Now let me examine this ring."

  1. Beautiful pictures! I wish we had done something like that years ago! We might just have to do some family shots soon, to capture the kids before they are no longer such innocents! (From Anna M. - mother to Luke Gr. 2)
