Europe - Cinque Terre, Italy

A little while ago, a friend who travelled through Europe showed me a photo of this amazing little town on a cliff side in Italy. I almost died when I saw how incredible it looked and said next time I go to Europe, I am going to make it happen! So, this brings me to Cinque Terre. It consists of 5 little towns on the coastline of the Italian Riviera close to the city of La Spezia.

In order you've got Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Don't they all sound like delicious pasta? Yum!

If you take any advice when going to Cinque Terre, please take this one: Stay in either Vernazza or Manarola. Both are the picturesque post cards you'd expect to get on your camera, and both are lovely to walk at night.

We were also so lucky to run into our friends The Ricardos! What a small world :) and so nice to see you guys!

Here are some other things when travelling to Cinque Terre you may want to consider doing:

1. In between walking the towns, take an hour or so and jump in the water! Vernazza and Manarola have some great rocks to jump from or simply tan on. Monterosso is where the beach at, but I have to admit, I prefer the rocks :)
2. The train going between each town in super convenient, but sometimes not always on time. A huge travellers favourite is the hike between towns.
3. Use airbnb for your accommodation! Cuts the cost of hotels and it's nice to be hosted by a local.
4. Venture away from your typical pizza and pasta - this place is full of great seafood.
5. Bring your running shoes, its a lot of up and down and walking on trails!
