Coquitlam Engagement Photography - Beth + Sean

It was only appropriate that Beth, Sean and I held their engagement shoot at Minnekhada Park in  Coquitlam, as these two are hiking fanatics. So much so to say that their proposal happened while hiking one of their favourite trails!

On their third anniversary, Sean and Beth hiked the Joffre Lakes Trail and spent the night at the Matier Glacier near Pemberton, BC. This became a tradition the first summer the pair started dating. While they stopped to share a moment and look out at the crystal clear, turquoise blue glacial lake, Sean told Beth that he knew from the first summer they had stood staring out at that glacier together, that this would be the place he would tell his children that he has asked their Mother to marry him. He got down on one knee and took out a ring with a sparkling emerald, almost the same colour as the lake they were standing next to, and asked Beth to marry him. And of course, she said yes!

What was such a special moment that I remember Beth and Sean telling me when I met them for the first time, was that the camp ground was always so busy with groups of campers, to find a spot to pitch your tent.  There is a little island near the Matier Glacier that they headed over to, in hopes it wouldn't be taken (in the back of their mind thinking there was no way they'd get it). As they came up to it, it just so happened another group had been packing up, and asked if the two of them would like to take it over. It turned out to be the nicest celebration to their engagement!
