Big LOVE for life - A Personal posting

Let's take a moment, pause, and reflect on what is important in your life. Are you someone who loves your down time? Looks forward to the weekend so you have the freedom to spend time with those you love? What do you live for? And what can you live without? Recently I've got to thinking that there are five things in my life that I LOVE, and if I didn't have them in my life, my life just wouldn't be the same.

1. Family and friends. My family members are down-right the coolest bunch of Beiler's out there! Two twin brothers, two sisters and parents who bend over backwards for us now-all-grown-up kids! Even though my immediate family lives in Ontario and various other spots (other than British Columbia) I do have another "family" close by, they are my friends and co-workers, and of course, my hunk of an Aussie-man, Adam.

2. Work. When I am busiest, I am the happiest! In the Spring, I get so busy with work, and I love it! I used to allow a busy work schedule to induce a lot of stress. But once I learned how to manage my time a little more appropriately, keeping busy with work has given me much gratitude and joy in my life. The people I meet and photograph is what makes everyday new and exciting!

3. Travel. So so important to me and always has been. It is my biggest incentive in life, and continues to be a thrill. I cannot stress enough how important it is to see other parts of the world and learn and discover new cultures. I have to admit, I always have a trip planned within the year, at any given point, because to me, travel is the biggest reward to working hard.

4. Food. Oh. my. goodness. FOOD. This has got to be on everyone's list. After all, you can't live without it. But for me, a Vancouver foodie, I am always trying new tastes, and hitting up a local brunch joint on the weekends. (Leaving before 9 am here in Vancouver is a must!) Those who join me, have to be just as enthusiastic as I am, and not afraid to indulge in new foods. Food may have to surpass my love for travel, and become #3.

5. Down time. As I've gotten older....(and wiser) downtime has become mandatory. You need it to reflect, relax, and...let's be honest, to remain sane. It actually took a good friend to teach me how to relax more. That I didn't always have to say yes to meeting up every weekend, and that I should find comfort in just being quiet. And who doesn't enjoy spending some nights on the couch with 'The Bachelor' and a glass of wine. Maybe your puppy cuddled up next to you.

So, you've got to ask yourself, what do you value the most in your life, and what is just taking up space? Maybe you're someone who needs to rid some things to obtain happiness, or maybe you're already headed down the right path ;) Whatever it is, let love be your focus and drive.
